Bridesmaid Hairstyles Tips 2010

Weddings can be a trying time for all involved. It’s a great honor to be asked to be a bridesmaid in a wedding. While the bride has lots of stress to deal with in planning her big day, bridesmaids also get stressed out. After all, as a bridesmaid, you have to find a dress and accessories that go with the wedding’s theme, find shoes, and try to make sure that you look beautiful without accidentally outdoing the bride.

Some brides have to decide on everything. When you’re a bridesmaid for these types of brides, you probably won’t get much of a say in how you’re going to wear you’re hair. You could try to argue your point if the bride chooses a style you absolutely hate. You could try to get her to sit down and discuss options with all the bridesmaids. If the bride is demanding that you cut your hair in a way you really don’t want or demanding that you dye your hair, then you have every right to try to reach a compromise with her. But if it’s just the style you don’t really like, it might be best to just go along with it. After all, it’s the bride’s big day, not yours, and you’ll only have to wear it that once.

Some brides will simply tell you the theme and what accessories they would like you to wear; they may even buy the accessories for you. In this case, you can pretty much wear your hair however you would like. If you have to buy your own accessories, make sure they match the dress you’ll be wearing. Combs are great for up-dos like a French twist and come in a variety of colors; they also are perfect for dressing up a short haircut. Hairpins come in a variety of styles – from silver fairies to freshwater pearls and crystals – and are perfect for any length hair. It may be a good choice for the bridesmaids to wear a small tiara that mimics what the bride is wearing.

A good rule of thumb is to wear your hair down if the bride is wearing hers up, and vice versa. If all the bridesmaids are wearing their hair up and you have short hair, just fluff the back, and use hairpins to sweep your hair off your face and keep it back. Long hair can easily be dressed up in a variety of ways. Junior bridesmaids should have their hair similar to the bridesmaids, but with less of an adult look; pins and combs work great for them.
